Text Version of Mark of the Beast

Two thousand years ago, the Bible warned that the day would eventually come when no one would be able to buy or sell without having a special mark. Is that day getting close? Could you be mandated to take what the Scriptures call “the mark of the beast’? This booklet will not only tell you, but it will give you hope for the future.

There is a lot of confusion and speculation when it comes to identifying what the Bible calls “the mark of the beast.” Let’s get rid of both of these by looking closely at the Scriptures. Revelation 13:16,17 says that the beast will cause . . . all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark . . .

This “mark” is therefore not a vaccine. It’s not a needle in the arm. Neither is it a virus. It’s specifically a mark on the right hand or on the forehead. These verses also give us the reason for the mark. It is for the purpose of commerce. Those who don’t have the mark will not be able to buy or sell. Fifty years ago, when I first heard preachers quoting these verses, saying that the time would come when the whole earth would be restricted from buying or selling without a mark on the hand or forehead, it seemed very farfetched. Why would everyone be stopped from buying or selling? And how could that be done? The technology to do such a thing wasn’t available then. Nowadays it is:

“As COVID-19 continues to rage with the spread of new variants, having your health pass accessible is becoming increasingly essential. But would you be willing to have it actually implanted in your hand? That’s one use DSruptive Subdermals has been promoting for its implanted microchips . . . Implanted microchips aim at making daily life more convenient and are already used by a number of people and companies around the world to replace keys, access cards and IDs.” And the location chosen to place the chips is on the back of the hand—just as the Bible so accurately predicted.

But why would this eventually become mandatory—why would people be forced to have this implant? Here’s why: “As a growing number of people face vaccine mandates, health workers are concerned about a disturbing trend: A growing number of people are now turning to the internet for fake vaccine cards. ‘Last week we saw an incredible spike,’ says Brian Linder, an emerging threats expert with Check Point Software . . . Between August and September, Check Point saw the number of people selling fake vaccine cards explode tenfold. Rania Mankarious, a family safety expert, . . . predicts a transition away from cards to a more sophisticated tech-based system. ‘I am sure that soon enough we are going to see changes in the way we are recording vaccinations and requiring proof of vaccinations,’ she said.”

Implants in the hand would be the commonsense way to go. Governments that want to control the masses need a foolproof way to make sure someone has had the requisite number of shots —or whatever else is deemed necessary. And the only way this will work is to have a mandatory implant. If you don’t get it, you won’t be able to conduct any financial transactions—no groceries, utilities, or rent or mortgage.

It’s possible that this could happen with the COVID shots or maybe other unforeseen vaccines in the future. Perhaps this is what will ultimately lead to the mark of the beast. No one knows for certain, but time will tell. Whatever the case, it will be “Get it or starve.” That’s a powerful incentive.

Just after Jesus prophesied that Jerusalem would get back into Jewish hands —which happened in 1967—He said these words: And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. (Luke 21:25–28) Keep in mind that the Bible says it’s the ungodly whose hearts will fail for fear of that which is coming on the earth. So let’s make sure you’re right with God—that you’re “born again,” as Jesus said you must be to enter the kingdom of God (John 3:3).

Do you think you are a good person? No doubt, like most of us, you do. How many lies do you think you have told in your life? Have you ever stolen something, even if it’s small? If you’ve done these two things, then you are a lying thief. Have you ever used God’s name in vain, either flippantly (including “OMG”) or as profanity? If you have, let me ask you if you would ever use your mother’s name as a cuss word. I’m sure you wouldn’t, because that would show you don’t respect her in the slightest. And yet you have used God’s holy name as a cuss word. That’s called “blasphemy,” and it’s very serious in God’s eyes. He promises that whoever takes His name in vain will not be guiltless (Exodus 20:7).

One more question. Jesus said that if we look with lust we commit adultery in our heart (Matthew 5:28). Have you ever looked at someone with lust? If you’re normal, you have. So here is a summation of your court case on Judgment Day. If you’ve been honest. You have admitted to being a lying, thieving, blasphemous adulterer at heart. When God judges you by the Ten Commandments, are you going to be innocent or guilty? Guilty, of course. Will you therefore go to Heaven or Hell? The answer is that if you die in your sins(without them being forgiven, you have God’s promise that you will end up in Hell.

The Bible says that all liars will be cast into the lake of fire, and no thief, no adulterer, and no blasphemer will inherit the kingdom of God (Revelation 21:8; 1 Corinthians 6:9,10). Does that make you fearful? If it does, that’s good. Fear is doing its beneficial work. It’s being your friend, not your enemy, by showing you that you desperately need God’s mercy. It’s also humbling you so that you will be able to understand the good news of the gospel— that, although the wages of sin is death, God offers you the gift of everlasting life in Jesus Christ, the Savior.

Here now is the good news: The Ten Commandments are God’s “moral Law.” You and I broke the Law, but Jesus paid the fine in His life’s blood. That’s what happened when He died on the cross. That’s why He said just before He died, “It is finished!” (John 19:30). In other words, the debt has been paid in full. If you’re in court and someone pays your fine, the judge can let you go even though you are guilty. In doing so, he still does what is legal, right, and just.

Does that make sense? Even though you are guilty, you are free to walk out of the courtroom because someone has paid your fine. The Bible says, “God commendeth (demonstrates) his love toward us, in that, while we were yet (even though were) sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8). God proved His great love for you through the cross. Then Jesus rose from the dead and defeated the power of the grave. It is because Jesus paid the fine for sin on the cross that God can dismiss your case. You can walk out of His courtroom on Judgment Day. He can pardon your death sentence and legally let you live forever, all because Jesus paid the fine for sin in full on that cross.

God has made the way to find everlasting life so simple that even a child can understand it. All you need to do is be honest and humble. You simply have to repent of your sins and trust in Jesus alone. Repentance means to turn from sin. You can’t say you’re a Christian and continue to lie, steal, and blaspheme God’s name. That would be to deceive yourself and play the hypocrite. Your repentance must be sincere to be genuine. Then you trust in Jesus alone for your salvation, as you would trust in a parachute.

Today, repent and trust in Jesus, because the reality is you may not have tomorrow. If you’re not sure how to repent, here is a model prayer of repentance, given to us in Scripture when King David had his sin exposed: “Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions (sins).  Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.  Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.” (Psalm 51:1–4) Then, to show your gratitude, read the Bible daily and obey it, join a Christian church, and be baptized. When you’re right with God, you don’t need to fear the future because you are trusting the One who has the future in His hands. For the Christian, what’s going on in the world is not frightening. It’s exciting. When we see these things, we are to look up in joyful expectation, not look down in fear. This is because we’re not waiting for the end of the world, but the beginning of a new one—where God’s kingdom will come to this earth and His will will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Jesus said, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.” (John 10:27,28). No one can take you out of His hand.

He said, “Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles [unsaved} seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” (Matthew 6:31–33)
